Lucia's confidence is an asset

LuciaLucia was identified as our 'job-seeker of the month' because of her motivation to work. Lucia is a 24 year old with an intellectual disability and was eligible for a productivity-based wage under the Supported Wage System.

Lucia has now been successful in securing employment with Foodland at Woodcroft. She performs a range of tasks including stock rotation, checking barcodes, date ordering and sequencing, and general cleaning. She focuses on giving reliable, friendly customer service. Her employers are very happy with her work and have found the Supported Wage System a good method of employing a person who would find it difficult to achieve full productive levels due to their disability. An independent assessor determines productivity level and the employer pays accordingly.
